Join this talkshop by Clara Balaguer to discover how grey literature—anything printed outside of formal publishing channels—can be a tool for circulating knowledge. Small-run grey literature is an especially suitable vehicle for divergent bodies of knowledge that require avenues for dissemination in mainstream, professional circuits. Balaguer will elaborate on editorial and organisational tactics such as cross-nesting, repeat tacticality, liberating the means of circulation, gentle asphyxia, channelling, cutting the line of sight, the blind item and the value of the vernacular.

About Galley Copy Shoppe

Galley Copy Shoppe is an epiphyte publishing house, nested inside an institutional umbrella in order to expand its means of circulation. Because of its clandestine nature, Galley Copy Shoppe may or may not be officially recognised on colophons. The publishing house is committed to the salvage and re-use of waste (spoilage) paper left behind at institutional printers. Because much of its print costs are often secretly subsidised by institutional access, editions are sold cheaply, rather than for profit,  usually in exchange for donations to causes the shoppe supports.

Sharjah Art Foundation is committed to making its programmes inclusive and accessible. You will find disability access symbols indicating accessibility for all sessions on the registration form. Kindly contact us in advance to arrange for any support needed.
